Addie Branch Falls holds the distinct honor of being the highest-altitude waterfall in Georgia. It's also among northeast Georgia's tallest waterfalls, tumbling 150 feet off a magnificent cliff along the eastern slopes of Rabun Bald, which is Georgia's second highest mountain. The waterfall lies high in the headwaters of Addie Branch, a major tributary of Holcomb Creek, and is best seen in wet weather. In drier times, this waterfall tuns to a mere trickle. Addie Branch Falls lies in a rugged off-trail area north of the Rabun Bald Trail, which climbs steeply to the summit of Rabun Bald from Hale RIdge Road. It requires a challenging bushwhack to reach.
