GPS Location:

50 feet
Located just north of the magnificent Holcomb Creek Falls, 50-foot Ammons Creek Falls is a picturesque sliding waterfall with easy access from the Holcomb Creek Trail. The two waterfalls are often paired on the same hike due to their proximity. Ammons Creek is a major tributary of Holcomb Creek, with their confluence occurring below Holcomb Creek Falls. In the past, a wooden observation deck stood at the very base of Ammons Creek Falls, which made photography rather tricky. However, the deck was destroyed by a falling tree in 2018 and has yet to be rebuilt. A large pile of boulders now provides the best view instead.
Ammons Creek Falls lies at the end of a short side trail along the Holcomb Creek Trail. It is an easy to moderate 0.5-mile hike from Hale Ridge Road (FR 7). Folks looking to make a slightly longer 1.7-mile loop hike can continue up the Holcomb Creek Trail to another trailhead right up the road, passing Upper Holcomb Creek Falls along the way.
