Asleep at the Wheel Falls

Crockford-Pigeon Mountain Wildlife Management Area

Walker County
LaFayette, GA

GPS Location:

34.62970, -85.39888

Waterfall Height:

20 feet

The second of three waterfalls on Allen Creek, Asleep at the Wheel Falls denotes the point where Allen Creek begins dropping into a deep gorge through the middle of Pigeon Mountain. Despite being just 20 feet high, this canyon waterfall is distinguished by a magnificent and remote setting within a vast amphitheater of towering cliffs. Its name was established by kayakers. The best way to reach Asleep at the Wheel Falls is via a series of gated forest roads from Rocky Lane, followed by a steep and rugged off-trail bushwhack into the gorge.
