Barefoot Falls is a scenic stairstep waterfall lying in the Etowah River valley, in the City of Atlanta Tract of Dawson Forest. The waterfall forms a picturesque 25-foot cascade tumbling into a shallow wading pool, perfect for small kids. Barefoot Falls lies on a small unnamed creek just above its confluence with the Etowah River. It's also a frequent stop for kayakers running the Etowah. Barefoot Falls can be reached on foot via an easy 0.9-mile hike along the Green Trail.

A second waterfall known as Upper Barefoot Falls lies a couple hundred feet above the main waterfall. It's very similar, a stairstepping drop about 30 feet high, but without such an expansive pool. The upper falls is worth seeing if you're here; just follow the narrow scramble path upstream.
