Bear Den Creek Falls
Mark Trail Wilderness
White County
Helen, GA
GPS Location:
34.72916, -83.80515
Waterfall Height:
12 feet
Located north of Raven Cliff Falls on the other side of GA Hwy 348, Bear Den Creek features a series of small and picturesque cascading drops - the tallest of which is about 12 feet high. While these drops are hardly waterfalls, they can make for a nice, secluded destination. An old logging road can easily be hiked for 1.8 miles along Bear Den Creek, starting at GA Hwy 348, all the way to these cascades. The old trail passes through a pair of wildlife clearings and fords the creek once along the way.
To learn about more waterfalls in the Helen area, see chapter 6 in Mark Ozboyd's "Waterfalls of Georgia" guidebook.
