Bear Gap Branch is the unofficial name for a tributary of the Coleman River draining the eastern slopes of Dicks Knob, the third highest peak in Georgia. Bear Gap Branch Falls is the lower of two significant wet-weather waterfalls found along this stream. It is a 50-foot free-falling with a nice rock overhang. Bear Gap Branch Falls can be accessed from a seldom-traveled unofficial trail paralleling the upper Coleman River from the end of Coleman River Road (FR 54). However, reaching the falls does entail a 0.25-mile open-woods bushwhack up the tributary.
