Helen, GA

GPS Location:

Waterfall Height:

20 feet

Blue Hole Falls is the first in a pair of beloved tourist waterfalls found within the High Shoals Creek gorge, north of Helen. It is located a short distance upstream from the far taller High Shoals Falls. About 20 feet high, Blue Hole Falls tumbles into a deep pool whose colorful turquoise waters give the waterfall its name. The pool's great depth makes it a popular swimming and waterfall jumping location.

Blue Hole Falls lies at the end of a short side trail along the High Shoals Falls Trail. The trail starts at Indian Grave Gap Road (FR 283) and gradually descends for 1 mile to the falls. A wooden observation deck provides a nice overview of the waterfall and its pool.
