Georgia's Trusted Local Source for Waterfall Explorations Since 2018

Breath Away Falls

Chattahoochee National Forest

Rabun County
Lakemont, GA

GPS Location:

34.77612, -83.50147

Waterfall Height:

60 feet

Located on a tributary in the Seals Creek valley near Seed Lake, Breath Away Falls is a magnificent free-falling waterfall dropping 60 feet over a large overhanging cliff. Free-falling waterfalls of this magnitude are a great rarity in northeast Georgia, so this one is special. This is a rather small stream and the waterfall is best seen after heavy rain. From the Seed Lake Boat Ramp along Seed Lake Road, an unofficial trail follows an old logging road up the Seals Creek valley. However, there is no trail extending up the Breath Away Falls tributary. Accessing the falls entails a rough, difficult 0.3-mile bushwhack.
