Buckeye Branch Falls

Chattahoochee National Forest

Rabun County
Clayton, GA

GPS Location:

34.85164, -83.26802

Waterfall Height:

25 feet

Buckeye Branch tumbles into the Chattooga River gorge several miles northeast of Bull Sluice, forming a long but unimpressive waterfall along the way. It's covered in heavy debris, with only the lower 12 feet being open, and requires a bushwhack to reach. To get there, drive to the cul-de-sac at the end of FR 9 (Lick Log Creek Road). Hike the Licklog Trail to the Chattooga River Trail. Then, turn left and go another 0.4 mile to a wooden footbridge over Buckeye Branch. Buckeye Branch Falls lies off-trail, about 0.15 mile upstream.
