A western tributary of the Tallulah River just outside the community of Tate City, Burnt Cabin Branch is home to a spectacular 80-foot waterfall. This waterfall lies on a small parcel of private property surrounded by the Chattahoochee National Forest. The property is known as the Charles H. Warton Conservation Center, and Burnt Cabin Branch Falls is protected by conservation easement. Although the property is presently off-limits to the public, it is slated to become a summer research center for University of Georgia students and faculty. Thus, it may be possible to obtain special permission to visit the waterfall. Stay tuned for further access updates.
