Caney Creek Falls

Atlanta Country Club

Cobb County
Marietta, GA

GPS Location:

PRIVATE

Waterfall Height:

20 feet

A few miles east of Marietta, Caney Creek flows into a scenic, cascading section of Sope Creek at the Marietta Paper Mill Ruins. Caney Creek forms a 20-foot waterfall a few hundred feet above the ruins. It lies on the private property of the Atlanta Country Club and is off limits to the general public. The setting of the waterfall is not very scenic anyway, being located below a retaining wall along the edge of a golf course. It essentially lies in the landing zone for stray golf balls! The paper mill ruins below Caney Creek Falls are located within Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area, but the park property stops between the ruins and the falls.
