Carnes Cascade is a small 8-foot cascade found along the Appalachian Trail at 0.4 mile south of Dicks Creek Gap. It's truly not a waterfall, but I wanted to mark it here because the cascade is marked by a wooden sign along the trail. Carnes Cascade lies in the headwaters of Dicks Creek and is named for Jerry Carnes, a trail maintainer who covers this section of the Appalachian Trail.
