Cascade Springs Falls

Cascade Springs Nature Preserve

Fulton County
Atlanta, GA

GPS Location:

33.71975, -84.47745

Waterfall Height:

12 feet

Cascade Spring Falls has the honor of being the only naturally-occurring waterfall inside the Atlanta city limits. It's a multi-tier cascading drop of about 12 feet, found along Turkeyfoot Creek as it emerges from a culvert beneath Cascade Road. This is a small watershed, so the small waterfall is best seen in wet weather. Even then, it's more like a series of cascades than a waterfall. The waterfall can be reached with an easy 0.25-mile hike from the parking lot for Cascade Springs Nature Reserve.

Cascade Spring Falls is also home to an oddity. Visitors often report finding bizarre "ritual offerings" — ranging from rotten fruit to candles to even severed goat heads — apparently left behind by local Santeria practitioners.
