Cherokee Falls is the first of three major waterfalls in the Daniel Creek arm of Cloudland Canyon, which forms a deep gorge cutting into the west side of Lookout Mountain. The waterfall makes a 65-foot free-falling tumble into a large pool surrounded by magnificent cliffs. Hiking options to Cherokee Falls include a steeper 1-mile approach from the Cloudland Canyon Interpretive Center atop the canyon rim, or a more gradual 2-mile approach from the canyon mouth via the Sitton Gulch Trail.
