Chunannee Falls is one of two significant yet lesser-known waterfalls at Smithgall Woods State Park, Georgia's second largest state park. Located on a tributary of Dukes Creek called Alabama Branch, this broad 20-foot waterfall lies in a secluded cove at the end of the Chunannee Falls Trail. While smaller than nearby Hamby Branch Falls, Chunannee Falls shows more reliable year-round flow. Chunnanee Falls can be reached via a moderate 3.2-mile hike from the visitor center. In wet weather, visitors are highly recommended to make a side trip to see Hamby Branch Falls on the same hike.
