Cliff Creek Falls is a spectacular and lesser-known 40-foot waterfall located off-trail on Cliff Creek, a major tributary in the lower Chattooga River gorge. Towering bluffs around this unique zigzagging waterfall make "Cliff Creek" a fitting name. A beautiful swimming hole lies at its base. This is one of my favorite hidden bushwhack waterfalls in the region. Cliff Creek Falls can be reached with a steep 0.5-mile bushwhack from Water Gauge Road (FR 511). The hike is short but rugged, best for experienced hikers only.
