Conasauga River Falls
Cohutta Wilderness
Murray County
Chatsworth, GA
GPS Location:
34.90538, -84.63197
Waterfall Height:
10 feet
Located about 0.1 mile below the Rough Creek confluence, this is the single largest vertical drop along the Conasauga River. It resembles a pair of powerful rapids more than a true waterfall, but the location is scenic. A cliff overlooks the north side of Conasauga River Falls, affording a birds-eye view of the run. The waterfall culminates with a large and very deep pool, adjacent to one of the nicest campsites in the entire Conasauga River gorge. The Conasauga River Trail fords the river just above the rapids, but you have to turn on a side path to access the base.
