Georgia's Trusted Local Source for Waterfall Explorations Since 2018

Contentment Falls

Chattahoochee National Forest

Stephens County
Toccoa, GA

GPS Location:

34.57770, -83.38460

Waterfall Height:

30 feet

Located a couple miles south of Toccoa Falls, 30-foot Contentment Falls is a hidden gem in the North Fork Broad River valley. This slender waterfall free-falls over an overhanging cliff featuring an impressive undercut grotto. A small spring is found at the back of the grotto, sometimes leading the place to be called "Contentment Falls Spring Cave." Although Contentment Falls is frequented by students of Toccoa Falls College, the unmarked condition of its trail has led it to be passed up by outsiders.

The most direct hiking route to Toccoa Falls starts from a gate at the end of Bend N Hickory Road. From here, it is an easy 0.85-mile walk along old roads that were once part of the Locust Stake OHV Trail System. Near the falls, you'll venture down a steeper scramble path to the bottom.
