A tributary of Low Gap Creek, Cool Springs Branch is home to an 80-foot waterfall near its headwaters. Best visited in wet weather, this imposing waterfall forms a picturesque drop over tall, stairstepping ledges. It lies about 0.35 mile upstream from the West Place Branch confluence. Accessing Cool Springs Falls requires a difficult cross-country bushwhack from Low Gap Creek Campground. There are no trails up the Cool Springs Branch or West Place Branch valleys.
