Double Culvert Falls

Mark Trail Wilderness

White County
Helen, GA

GPS Location:

34.74555, -83.78193

Waterfall Height:

40 feet

A short scramble up the hill from Chattahoochee River Road (FR 44), Double Culvert Falls is a scenic free-falling waterfall along Double Culvert Branch. About 40 feet high, the falls are especially beautiful in wet weather, when the stream forms multiple free-falling spouts over the vertical cliff. The stream and waterfall are named for the distinctive double culvert found along the Forest Service Road. The waterfall lies 0.2 mile upstream from the double culvert, accessed by an unmarked scramble path. Despite being faintly visible through the trees from the road, Double Culvert Falls is often overlooked by visitors. This waterfall is an excellent bonus stop paired with the better known Horsetrough Falls, located farther up the road.
