A magnificent 200-foot waterfall known for its easy tourist trail, Dukes Creek Falls is a classic waterfall hike near Helen. The waterfall name is a partial misnomer, for the main big drop of Dukes Creek Falls actually lies on Davis Creek where this latter creek tumbles into the Dukes Creek gorge. Adjacent to the main drop of Dukes Creek Falls, a 25-foot waterfall lies on Dukes Creek itself. A wooden boardwalk affords panoramic views of both waterfalls. The view of 200-foot Dukes Creek Falls is especially spectacular in high flow and when the leaves are down.
Dukes Creek Falls can be accessed via a gradually-descending 1.2-mile trail from the Dukes Creek Falls Recreation Area, off the Richard B. Russell Scenic Highway. The trail ends at a wooden boardwalk with observation platforms overlooking the falls.
