The Edge of the World is a series of broad, powerful rapids along the Amicalola River in Dawson Forest's Amicalola Tract. The rapids are an extremely popular spot for lounging and swimming to cool off from the summer heat. The river offers numerous areas of slower and shallower water to play around in, while expansive areas of dry bedrock surrounding the rapids are perfect for lounging. The Edge of the World Rapids are accessed by a 0.4-mile ADA-accessible boardwalk from a spacious parking lot along Hwy 53.
