Fall Branch Falls
Swallow Creek Wildlife Management Area
Towns County
Hiawassee, GA
GPS Location:
34.88953, -83.69122
Waterfall Height:
120 feet
A tributary in the Cynth Creek drainage southeast of Hiawasee, Fall Branch features an impressive 120-foot waterfall sliding down a steep rock face, known as Fall Branch Falls. This particular Fall Branch Falls should not be confused with another, smaller Fall Branch Falls a few miles to the northeast, near Buckeye Cove.
Fall Branch Falls lies directly roadside along Cynth Creek Road (FR 122) and typically requires no hiking to see. The waterfall lies in a small watershed, so it is mainly worth visiting after a heavy rain. However, the forest road has unfortunately become closed to vehicles outside of hunting season more often in recent years.
