GPS Location:
34.70822, -83.92781
Waterfall Height:
50 feet
Located high on the southern slopes of Cedar Mountain near Gooch Gap, Gooch Gap Falls is a 50-foot waterfall sliding down a large, steep rock face. Best seen in wet weather due to the small watershed size, this waterfall lies in the headwaters of a Frogtown Creek tributary that later forms Lower DeSoto Falls nearly a mile downstream. There is no trail to Gooch Gap Falls, and accessing it requires a significant cross-country bushwhack.
