70 feet
Haynes Falls is a 70-foot waterfall lying on private property in the Brasstown Creek valley. It is marked on USGS topographic maps behind a house, located along an unnamed tributary flowing through Waterfall Cove. Haynes Falls is likely named for a Haynes family who, in the 19th century, originally owned the land where the waterfall now sits. Surprisingly, I have yet to find a single photograph of this large waterfall, which is strictly off-limits to the public.
To learn about more waterfalls in the Hiawassee area, see chapter 7 in Mark Ozboyd's "Waterfalls of Georgia" guidebook.
