Georgia's Trusted Local Source for Waterfall Explorations Since 2018

Heavenly Falls

Lake Russell Wildlife Management Area

Habersham County
Cornelia, GA

GPS Location:

34.52628, -83.44028

Waterfall Height:

60 feet

An unusual waterfall for the Lake Russell area, Heavenly Falls is a true free-falling waterfall, about 60 feet in height. This waterfall drops over an impressive overhanging cliff and lies on a small tributary of the Middle Fork Broad River near Brown Bottom. It is best appreciated in wet weather, when it's much more than a mere trickle.

There is no trail to Heavenly Falls, and it can be accessed via a challenging 0.35-mile bushwhack from Browns Bottom Road (FR 92B). The main issue making this bushwhack more difficult than average is the densely overgrown forest understory, making this an easier one in the wintertime. The best starting point lies slightly west of the Middle Fork Broad River bridge.
