High Shoals Falls is perhaps the most beautiful and picturesque waterfall in all of metro Atlanta. Located a few minutes north of Dallas, this waterfall tumbles 30 feet in free-falling fashion over a spectacular cliff line. A shallow, round wading pool lies at the base, perfects for families with kids to enjoy. The entire site is quite a geological anomaly for the hills of Paulding County.

High Shoals Falls lies on an unnamed stream flowing into Raccoon Creek. Its watershed is rather small, so the falls are most impressive in wet weather. The waterfall is accessed by a very quick and easy 0.15-mile trail from a large parking area along High Shoals Road, right by the High Shoals Cemetery. The trail and property are managed by Paulding County, who deserve great accolades for preserving this fantastic site for everybody's enjoyment. High Shoals Falls is a great choice for first-time hikers and elderly folks, its ease of access inspiring people to plan bigger waterfall journeys and trips to the mountains.
