Waterfall Height:

60 feet

Holley Falls is a lesser visited series of waterfalls tumbling steeply down into the Amicalola River gorge within Dawson Forest's Amicalola Tract. It lies in a geographically unusual location for such a tall waterfall. The total height of Holley Falls is about 60 feet, but it drops in three distinct tiers that can't quite be seen all at once. Scrambling down the steep gorge slope to the bottom of the third and largest tier is far tougher than stopping at the smaller first tier near the top of the falls.

Holley Falls lies along an unnamed creek with a small watershed, so it's best seen in wet weather. The falls can be accessed via an unofficial trail from the end of Dove Field Road. This road is usually gated outside of hunting season, in which case a longer hike is needed from the Edge of the World Rapids parking area. A guy named Brad Butkovich stumbled upon Holley Falls in 2005, back when the area had no paths of any kind. He informally named the falls for his wife Holley, and the name has stuck.
