GPS Location:

90 feet
Located north of Helen, Horsetrough Falls is one of Georgia's most photogenic and underrated waterfalls. About 90 feet high, this magnificent waterfall flows down an expansive cliff in countless stairstepping trickles, which mesmerize the eye and make for especially interesting photo opportunities. Horsetrough Falls is highly underrated, for it appears to stay under the radar despite the waterfall's remarkably easy hiking access.
The hike is a mere 0.1 mile along the flat, easy Horsetrough Falls Trail, which starts at the back of the Upper Chattahoochee River Campground. During winter, the campground is gated, which turns the trip into a slightly longer yet still easy 0.5 mile walk. Horsetrough Falls lies along an unnamed Chattahoochee River tributary, whose watershed is fairly small. Thus, the beauty of Horsetrough Falls shines the most during wet weather.
