Laurel Branch is a small tributary draining into the Chattooga River Gorge from the east side of Willis Knob. About 0.1 mile below Willis Knob Road (FR 157), this stream drops over 25-foot Laurel Branch Falls, a steep slide in a rhododendron thicket. It lies off-trail and requires a steep bushwhack to reach. Greg Ford referenced this waterfall as Avalanche Falls when he documented it on Facebook in 2021.
