Surrounded by towering white pines and large boulders, Long Creek Falls is a scenic two-tier 25-foot waterfall located along a popular stretch of the Appalachian Trail near Three Forks. Long Creek Falls is one of the first major landmarks that northbound AT hikers arrive at after starting their journey at Springer Mountain, just a few miles to the southwest. The clear, rushing streams, lush forests, and high-altitude campsites around Three Forks make Long Creek Falls an especially alluring destination in the summer.
Long Creek Falls is the most significant waterfall found along the Georgia section of the Appalachian Trail. It lies at the end of a short blue-blazed side trail from the main trail, reached after an easy, family-friendly 1-mile hike from Three Forks.
