The first in a pair of waterfalls along Burnett Creek in the Cooper Creek valley, Lower Burnett Creek Falls drops a total of 35 feet across two distinct sections. The waterfall is accessed from an unmarked trail that begins in a large primitive camping area along Cooper Creek, a half-mile above the Burnett Creek confluence, along Cooper Creek Road (FR 33). The trail fords Cooper Creek and reaches Burnett Creek in 0.5 mile. It then continues above Burnett Creek upstream along this latter creek's west side. Lower Burnett Creek Falls lies another 0.5 mile upstream and can be reached by a short, steep bushwhack down from the trail.
To learn about more waterfalls in the Suches area, see chapter 4 in Mark Ozboyd's "Waterfalls of Georgia" guidebook.
