Lower Fall Creek Falls

Dawson Forest Wildlife Management Area

Dawson County
Dawsonville, GA

GPS Location:

34.50994, -84.29886

Waterfall Height:

25 feet

The most beloved hiking destination in Dawson Forest's Wildcat Creek Tract, Lower Fall Creek Falls is a scenic 25-foot waterfall tumbling into a small pool. It's the first of four waterfalls located along Fall Creek. Lower Fall Creek Falls also goes by an unofficial name called "Buice Falls," which stems from a home-made wooden sign that had once showed up at the falls, bearing the latter name. The sign is now gone, and its legitimacy is dubious.

Lower Fall Creek Falls is the first waterfall that people reach when hiking up along Wildcat Creek from Wildcat Campground, hence it being the most popular falls in the area. After a ford of Wildcat Creek at 2.2 miles, an unmarked side trail branches off toward the falls.
