Waterfall Height:
35 feet
Lower Hemlock Falls is the third and final major waterfall in the Daniel Creek arm of Cloudland Canyon, which forms a deep gorge cutting into the west side of Lookout Mountain. The waterfall makes a 35-foot free-falling tumble into a small rock alcove just below the Sitton Gulch Trail's long footbridge across Daniel Creek. Unlike Cherokee Falls and Hemlock Falls, Lower Hemlock Falls is not recognized officially on park maps. The top of the falls can be seen from the Daniel Creek footbridge, and a short scramble path leads to the base from near the bottom of the stairs.
