Lower Mossy Cove Branch Falls

Swallow Creek Wildlife Management Area

Towns County
Hiawassee, GA

GPS Location:

34.81913, -83.67730

Waterfall Height:

40 feet

Mossy Cove Branch features two waterfalls in a small, steep gorge along the southeast side of Chinquapin Ridge. Lower Mossy Cove Branch Falls forms a steep slide of about 40 feet, culminating with a small pool. The waterfall can be reached via a steep 0.1-mile bushwhack down through a mountain laurel thicket, coming from Corbin Creek Road (FR 698) to the south. You will intersect an old logging road on the south side of Mossy Cove Branch. It likely climbs up from Corbin Creek but appears to also be a bushwhack.
