Lower Rocky Mountain Falls is the first of two wet-weather waterfalls located in the headwaters of the Hiwassee River, on the northwest slope of Rocky Mountain. Although the waterfall lies about 0.3 mile northeast of the Unicoi Gap Appalachian Trail parking area along Highway 17/75, there is no trail to it. Access entails a bushwhack. The waterfall is a steep slide about 50 feet high, with a short vertical drop at the top.
