Lower Timpson Creek Falls

Chattahoochee National Forest

Rabun County
Clayton, GA

GPS Location:

34.87157, -83.47898

Waterfall Height:

12 feet

Lower Timpson Creek Falls might be only 12 feet high, but it's home to one of the finest swimming holes in the area, characterized by an alluring sandy bottom. This small cascading waterfall lies on the lower reaches of Timpson Creek near Lake Burton, downstream from the much taller Timpson Creek Falls (which lies just outside the forest on private property). Lower Timpson Creek Falls is located near Timpson Creek Road (FR 162), a narrow and somewhat rough forest service road. An easy 250-foot path leads to the falls.
