Georgia's Trusted Local Source for Waterfall Explorations Since 2018

Lower Turkeypen Falls

Chattahoochee Wildlife Management Area

White County
Helen, GA

GPS Location:

34.76413, -83.77390

Waterfall Height:

15 feet

This is the lowermost of three scenic waterfalls found off-trail along Turkeypen Branch, a remote tributary of the Upper Chattahoochee River. It lies 0.1 mile from the Chattahoochee River confluence. About 15 feet high, Lower Turkeypen Branch Falls makes a unique twin drop that stairsteps around a lush island in the middle of this small stream. Accessing this waterfall entails a long, difficult bushwhack from Martin Branch Road (FR 178). Alternatively, astute creekwalkers can follow the Chattahoochee River to Turkeypen Branch upstream from the end of a faint fishermens' path at Low Gap Creek.
