Lower White Oak Stamp Falls

Mark Trail Wilderness

Union County
Helen, GA

GPS Location:

34.73941, -83.84219

Waterfall Height:

30 feet

Located about a hundred feet below the gorgeous White Pearl Falls, the multi-tier 30-foot tumble of Lower White Pearl Falls is impressive on its own terms. This cascading waterfall lies in the upper reaches of the Right Fork Nottely River watershed along White Oak Stamp Branch, near the popular Hogpen Gap Overlook off the Richard B. Russell Scenic Highway (GA Hwy 348). A small and deep jacuzzi-like swimming hole lies in between the multiple drops of Lower White Pearl Falls, making for a worthy stop on the way to the taller vertical waterfall just ahead.

An old roadbed follows North Fork Nottely River from GA Hwy 348 to near the White Oak Stamp Branch confluence. From there, it's a short bushwhack to the series of waterfalls on White Oak Stamp Branch. A faint path follows the north side of the stream to the base of Lower White Pearl Falls, where it crosses the creek and then scrambles steeply up the south side to the main White Pearl Falls.
