Marble Mine Falls

James H. Sloppy Floyd State Park

Chattooga County
Summerville, GA

GPS Location:

34.42886, -85.33287

Waterfall Height:

35 feet

This wet-weather waterfall drops 35 feet over the lip of the abandoned marble mine at James H. Sloppy Floyd State Park. It seldom flows better than a trickle, but the placid blue pool at the bottom is always there. The cavernous, arching mine entrance is always worth seeing regardless of the waterfall. Marble Mine Falls can be accessed via a 1-mile hike along the park's Marble Mine Trail from Upper Lake.
