Montgomery Falls is an extraordinarily picturesque 20-foot waterfall with a secluded swimming hole, found along Montgomery Creek in the upper Etowah River valley. A set of gorgeous water-polished gneiss rock slabs with vivid yellow banding are found in the creekbed below the pool. This waterfall shares a trailhead with Lower Black Falls along Hightower Church Road. Montgomery Falls is accessed via a 1.25-mile hike along a series of unmarked trails that continue beyond Lower Black Falls.
