5 feet

Murder Creek Falls is the only known waterfall in Central Georgia's Oconee National Forest. At 5 feet high, it's really more a series of rapids than a true waterfall, but the location is very beautiful and unusual amid these gentle rolling hills. Murder Creek is 150 feet wide at the falls, and a broad ledge stretches across the entire creek from bank to bank. At normal flow, the waterfall encompasses nearly the full width of the ledge. Above the main drop, Murder Creek features several hundred feet of beautiful rolling cascades flowing across gneiss bedrock. An impressive cliff on the river-left side of the falls contains a shady recessed grotto, hence the secondary name of Rock House Falls.

I believe Murder Creek Falls may have once been the site of an official recreation area, and old topographic maps denote a "Murder Creek Falls Hunt Camp" here. The falls is located at the end of FR 1108, known as Rock House Falls Road or Fred Wooten Road, about a mile west of Hwy 129. A short scramble path descends from the forest road terminus to the bottom of the falls.
