Georgia's Trusted Local Source for Waterfall Explorations Since 2018

Nash Pit Falls

Crockford-Pigeon Mountain Wildlife Management Area

Walker County
LaFayette, GA

GPS Location:

34.68563, -85.35796

Waterfall Height:

60 feet

Nash Pit Falls might just be the most unique waterfall in Georgia. A small stream emerges from a cave in the hillside, flows for a couple hundred feet, then drops over a 60-foot waterfall and into a pit cave back underground. Gauging the depth of the pit is tough, so the exact height of the waterfall is uncertain. There is no access to the bottom of the pit without rappelling skills, and this vertical drop makes the area around the edge of the pit very dangerous. Nash Pit Falls can be accessed by an open woods bushwhack from the Chamberlain Trail.
