Palm Creek Falls is a scenic 10-foot waterfall with its own little sandy beach, found along an unnamed creek at its confluence with Palm Creek east of Lawrenceville. Downstream from the confluence, Palm Creek flows over an additional series of beautiful cascades flowing along the base of a broad granite outcrop. The waterfall lies in an area known as the Palm Creek Greenspace, owned by Gwinnett County, east of Ewing Chapel Road.

The property was purchased by the county with plans to be transformed into Palm Creek Park, but two decades later, these plans have yet to materialize. Folks often hike to the falls via a 0.5-mile unofficial trail, but I'm unsure about the legality of hiking this trail. No formal parking area exists currently, and my understanding is that Gwinnett County frowns upon folks visiting the property, particularly due to past abuse from off-road vehicle users and hunters.

Hopefully, Palm Creek Park will eventually become a reality and this beautiful little waterfall sees the recognition it deserves. It's one of the nicest waterfalls I've found on the northeast side of the Atlanta metro area. The rock formations might even make you feel like you're in the mountains!
