Parnassus Falls

Raven Cliffs Wilderness

White County
Helen, GA

GPS Location:

34.72315, -83.82570

Waterfall Height:

15 feet

Parnassus Falls is the first of two seldom-visited waterfalls located upstream from Raven Cliff Falls on Dodd Creek. Featuring a scenic pool and a lush forest canopy, this showy 15-foot waterfall lies fully off-trail. The waterfall is named after the rare flower called grass of parnassus, which has been spotted nearby.

Parnassus Falls can be reached by bushwhacking upstream along Dodd Creek from the top of Raven Cliff Falls. An extremely steep and unmaintained scramble route, for experienced and agile hikers only, leads to the top of Raven Cliff Falls from the end of the official trail at the bottom. No established paths continue farther up the creek.
