Philchar Falls is a multi-tier 40-foot waterfall found along an unnamed stream flowing into the Middle Fork Broad River from the north, about half a mile northeast of Wells Shoals Falls. The waterfall has a nice free-falling section, but the most recent photo I've seen showed a fallen tree on it. An unofficial trail from Red Root Road (FR 92) crosses the stream just above the top of Philchar Falls. Reaching the base requires a steep bushwhack.
