Pocket Falls

Crockford-Pigeon Mountain Wildlife Management Area

Walker County
LaFayette, GA

GPS Location:

Waterfall Height:

50 feet

Located in a special botanical area known as The Pocket, Pocket Falls is a 50-foot twin waterfall set among limestone cliffs and unusual tufa formations. The waterfall is best seen after heavy rain, because during dry periods, much of the water in Pocket Branch drains into an underground cave before the falls. During March and April, the area surrounding Pocket Falls is engulfed by a spectacular spring wildflower show with species such as red columbine, purple phlox, Virginia bluebell, red trillium, and Jack-in-the-pulpit. Pocket Falls is accessed via a short hike along a scramble path from the Shirley Miller Wildflower Trail boardwalk.
