Pooles Mill Falls is a set of broad, sliding-type shoals dropping about 10 feet along Settingdown Creek, north of Cumming. Although this is more of a large cascade than a waterfall, it possesses characteristics that make it an attractive destination: it's scenic, it's easy to walk to, and it lies in close proximity to densely-populated regions of northern metro Atlanta. In summer, it's typical for Pooles Mill Falls to be teeming with people playing and swimming in the water. The waterfall can be reached with a shrot 0.1-mile walk along a paved walkway at Pooles Mill Bridge Park. After reaching the historic covered bridge crossing the creek just above the falls, you'll see an easy scramble path continues on to the bottom.
