Raper Creek Falls

Chattahoochee National Forest

Habersham County
Clarkesville, GA

GPS Location:

34.74959, -83.57796

Waterfall Height:

25 feet

Raper Creek Falls is an excellent 25-foot waterfall located just off the side of a forest service road near Lake Burton. This double-tier waterfall features an expansive pool, as well as a small mossy grotto extending behind the free-falling curtain formed by the lower tier. Raper Creek Falls can be heard and partly seen through the trees along Raper Creek Road (FR 376). A muddy scramble path drops off the road bank and descends steeply down to the base of the falls. This might as well be a roadside waterfall, though reaching the very bottom requires a bit of agility.
