Red Diamond Falls is a 30-foot off-trail waterfall located on a north fork of Holcomb Creek in its headwaters on the northern slopes of Rabun Bald. The waterfall lies about 0.15 mile above Hope Diamond Falls and north of Peridot Falls. Reaching it requires a long and very difficult bushwhack, for the whole area is engulfed in some of the thickest rhododendron I've ever seen. Although the Bartram Trail passes relatively close, you will find it extremely tough to reach the falls from the trail. This one is for hardcore waterfallers only and is best seen in wet weather.
